Books. I love books. Always have. I think one of my first memories was reading a Dr. Seuss book when I was barely old enough to walk. One Fish Two Fish, I think. Ever since then, reading has always been woven into my life… fiction, non-fiction, poetry… I’ll read it all.
Hence my love of bookstores. I can spend an entire day in Chapters. Seriously, I’ve done it. Especially when there’s a nice seat to cozy up in with my stack of books piled high beside my chair… my idea of perfection. Oh wait, and a latte from Starbucks. Now that’s perfect.
And that’s why I would take my camera into Chapters. To document my obsession for books. Aaaaand to test out the newest addition to my lenses… the 50mm 1.2L. Oh how I love thee 50 1.2. Your buttery creamy bokeh makes me smile. Almost as much as a good book and a hot latte.

Cormac McCarthy’s The Road is a really good read… especially if you like post-apocalyptic settings.
One novel I’m currently reading is the one below, Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. Historical novels from King Henry VIII’s era are among my favourite genres and Wolf Hall is a great portrayal of Thomas Cromwell, one of Henry VIII’s closest advisors. Well written and completely captivating.

Happy reading Monday!
