Randoms : Chapters.

Monday, December 13th, 2010

Books. I love books. Always have. I think one of my first memories was reading a Dr. Seuss book when I was barely old enough to walk. One Fish Two Fish, I think. Ever since then, reading has always been woven into my life… fiction, non-fiction, poetry… I’ll read it all.

Hence my love of bookstores. I can spend an entire day in Chapters. Seriously, I’ve done it. Especially when there’s a nice seat to cozy up in with my stack of books piled high beside my chair… my idea of perfection. Oh wait, and a latte from Starbucks. Now that’s perfect.

And that’s why I would take my camera into Chapters. To document my obsession for books. Aaaaand to test out the newest addition to my lenses… the 50mm 1.2L. Oh how I love thee 50 1.2. Your buttery creamy bokeh makes me smile. Almost as much as a good book and a hot latte.

Cormac McCarthy’s The Road is a really good read… especially if you like post-apocalyptic settings.

One novel I’m currently reading is the one below, Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. Historical novels from King Henry VIII’s era are among my favourite genres and Wolf Hall is a great portrayal of Thomas Cromwell, one of Henry VIII’s closest advisors. Well written and completely captivating.

Happy reading Monday!

Sindy + Will : West River Wedding

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

As a wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better day than the one that I woke up to the morning of Sindy and Will’s wedding. Bright, sunny, crisp October air… all was well, especially since we were all vigilantly checking the weather reports for a week leading up to the wedding… (not that the reports are at all reliable when you need them to be!).

All weddings I have captured or will ever capture will always be special and memorable… this one is  just a little more so. One of my best friends was getting married… and I was the one who was documenting it all! Ooh boy! The day went beautifully… Sindy and Will were completely glowing (yes, men glow too) and celebrated this incredible day with close family and friends at the gorgeous West River Event Centre in Vaughan.

Sindy & Will: I can’t express how thankful and happy that you wanted me to document your wedding day. You guys are so amazing for each other and Will, if I had to pick someone for Sindy to spend the rest of her life with in happy bliss, I wouldn’t be able to find anyone better than you. Sin, I’m so happy you have found a special love with Will. I love both of you guys so much and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store! (ahem… babies! *cough, cough*)

So much love and hugs, Jenne.

Seriously, need some sunglasses for the uber-bright socks… but pretty awesome! Will’s foot: first on the right.

Couldn’t start the day off right without a Timmy’s

A bit of Dior and some chic custom jewellery by Sally of Psalms 91:1 Accessories. Oh, Sindy’s also an up and coming make-up artist so for any brides out there who needs a pretty fab artist, holla at my girl!

Sindy’s Pronovias gown was stunning!

Seth (Sindy’s nephew) looked on to make sure everything went perfectly!

Seriously girl… you are absolutely gorge…

Gotta LOVE the socks!

The next two images are my faves! The clubhouse at Eagles Nest Golf Club made for a stunning backdrop.
