Becky + James : Grimsby Winter Wedding

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

Winter weddings are actually really, really pretty. The white snow on the ground in contrast with the dark branches of the surrounding trees make for some incredibly beautiful images. And, if you get lucky, the temperatures can be pretty tolerable for the portrait sessions.

For my first winter wedding ever, I was pretty excited to be documenting the wedding of my cousin James to his soul mate Becky. It was a pretty chilly day but no chill could ever dampen the warmth and cozy feeling you felt when you saw Becky and James together. Seeing the joy and tears on their faces the first time they saw each other on their wedding day left me breathless and teary-eyed. It was clear that their wedding day was only just the beginning to a great journey in their lives together.

Becky & James, thank you so much for allowing me to capture such a special moment in your lives. James, I’m so, so happy that you have found an incredible partner for life in Becky. Becky, you’re such a beautiful person and I’m excited to welcome you to the family.

Much love & hugs, Jenne.

It’s a tradition in Becky’s family to have a mouse present on the wedding day… such a cute little mousie!

I NEVER see James cry so this was such a poignant moment. Clearly, he’s in love.

One of my favourite images

Lurrve the Converse All-Stars all blinged up!

It wouldn’t be a Canadian wedding without a Timmy’s run!

Been Working On Something New

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

Okay, so clearly, I haven’t been doing such a hot job in keeping up with No. 18 on my list. But, I kind of have a good reason for it! I took a little time to work on a side project of mine… something to keep me in focus and balanced through life (along with the bazillion other balancing things I’ve got going on).

If you’ve been keeping up with me on Twitter, I’ve just launched a new blog. Don’t get me wrong. I love this blog. I still love photography and pretty pictures. I just needed some space to explore other avenues of my life, namely running, health and all other things non-photographic. So, what better way to do that than to create a 2nd blog, right?

I love web development. Yep, pretty big geek over here. I’m proud to say that I’ve customized all of my websites to fit my style and needs and this latest one is no different. I wanted a way to express my new found love of running and my journey through my 30s so low and behold, simplyinmotion.ca was born.

Thanks for continuing to follow me through my photography and I hope you’ll join me at simplyinmotion too!

Happy Thursday!
