One thing I love about my clients (also my friends!), is they completely understand me. They understand that it’s so important to have that engagement session prior to their wedding day and, in Katrina and Daniel’s case, they even did a winter fun photo session with me before they even got engaged!

The weather cooperated beautifully on Katrina and Daniel’s wedding day… whenever we needed the sun to shine and the rain to stop falling, it happened. From the looming dark clouds in blue skies to gorgeous twilight sunsets, the stage was set for absolutely gorgeous backdrops for this special day and the lush surroundings that Bloom Field Farms provided for the reception complimented the weather perfectly.

Katrina & Daniel: I’m so fortunate to be able to call you my friends. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture such beautiful moments and I’m honoured to have been a part of such a special moment in your lives.

Much love & hugs, Jenne.

Clearly, if you’ve been a follower of my blog for a while, you know I love road trips. I think Graham and I have been on four major road trips (including this one) in the last five years… this time, we’re tackling the mid & south-west United States. We’re traveling through no less than 20 of the 50 states in the US with more extended stays in Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico… Major road trip.

It’s been about a week into our trip and we’ve seen some pretty amazing sights… it’s crazy how the landscape can change so dramatically over what seems to be small amounts of time. But then again, Graham’s doing a lot of the driving (he says he enjoys it!) so I get to sit back and take in the gorgeous scenery… and update my blog.

Update on the itinerary so far (and some of this has been decided on the fly… cuz that’s just how we roll)… Michigan for a family reunion, then on to Yellowstone National Park, onward to Salt Lake City where we swam (floated) in Great Salt Lake at Antelope Island State Park (it really is that salty!), checked out the Bonneville Salt Flats in west Utah and now it’s onward to Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park and Las Vegas, baby!

Some snippets of images from along the way… I’ll be sure to update more at a later time!

UPDATE: I’m actually in Vegas now… at the amazing Aria Resort & Casino on the Strip… I’ll update the blog later with images from Bryce, Zion and Vegas onward!

Textures! This trip is all about texturelicious textures… more to come in future posts!

Her wedding day had finally arrived and Rhiannon started it off like any other day… with her favourite cup of Starbucks in hand. There was a zen-like calmness about her and a bit of disbelief that the day had finally arrived… she would be marrying the man she wanted to spend the rest of life with. Starbucks, her best girlfriends and sister and the love of her life, Mirko… what more could a girl really ask for?

Rhi & Mirko: Seriously?! I love you guys! Thank you so much for allowing me to share and capture this amazing time in your lives. Your passion for life and for each other really does spark a special emotion from within.

Much Love & Hugs, Jenne.

When I got an email from Keir asking about photographing her wedding in Manitoba, I did a double take. Wait… did I read that correctly?? Someone I’ve never met before wants to fly ME in to document their wedding day? Whaat?! I was humbled and completely excited. The more I spoke with Keir over the phone and emailed info back and forth, the more I couldn’t wait to travel out to Manitoba to finally meet Keir and, her soon-to-be husband, Terry…. no amount of rain and thunder was going to keep me away (they were getting a lot of rain out there, by the way)!

Despite forecasts of gloom and doom (a.k.a. rain and thunder), the weather was beautiful… dramatic dark clouds that threatened downpours went about their business elsewhere, the sun was able to shine through ever so brilliantly and Keir and Terry looked absolutely stunning and had adoring eyes only for each other. The outdoor ceremony and reception were held at the Minnewasta Golf & Country Club and the guests were entertained throughout the afternoon with a lively jazz quartet. Absolute perfection.

Keir & Terry: For only having known you for a short while, I feel as though meeting you was like reuniting with long lost friends. You and your families welcomed me with such warmth and openness and I can’t thank you enough for allowing me the opportunity to document such a wonderful day for you.

Much love & hugs, Jenne.

There’s something about newborns… it might be that yummy newborn smell, the adorable newborn curiosity or the sweet innocence that surrounds every newborn like a warm cocoon… I can’t quite put my finger on the magical quality that newborns exude.

Winston? No exceptions. I was fortunate to be able to document this bundle of amazingness only about a month into his foray into this big, bright world and he was a brilliant model. Surrounded by family from abroad and his adoring parents, Oxana and Trevor, it wasn’t at all surprising that he was content and happy… and so well loved.

World, meet Winston. Winston, World.
