I’ve decided to take more photos. Well, my friends can attest, I take a lot of photos as it is, in fact, most of them would probably like it if I didn’t take so many (thanks friends!). :) But that being said, what I would like to do it continue to take more photos on a regular basis rather than only taking photos when there’s more of an event going on. I figure, in doing so, it’ll give me more opportunities to work with the 30D and get used to all the quirky things cameras invariably like to do and it’ll become second-nature… it almost is right now, but still need a little more quality time with it.

So, I guess what I’m trying to say with this long-winded intro is that I’ll be posting a photo of the day on a fairly regular basis… now that may mean that I save up all my photos of the day and post them all on the weekend but I’ll have them up right? And isn’t that what counts?!

Anyways, given the way things are going now with school and the NSA (I’m on my way out on both counts!), my adrenals will need a bit of down time and editing and posting photos will be a great way to do it. Oh… and Guitar Hero! I forgot to mention, Guitar Hero. I love that game. Especially the 3rd version… the songs on there are classic! Songs like One (Metallica), Reptilia (The Strokes), Black Magic Woman (Santana) are on there; some songs I had never heard before and now love them! I’ll have to get some photos when Graham and I play. Guitar Hero rocks (never mind the fact that I’ve been playing for 5 nights straight now).

**ahem** Back to photo of the day… I’m hoping to get that started this weekend in between working on three presentations and studying for my Ethics exam on Monday morning. Oh fun…

I’ve just finished putting the final touches on my new logo! I’m really excited about it because it’s simple and classy but also uncluttered. :) I also created two versions of it so that I can create letterhead and invoices for future expansion of my business. It’ll also be the logo that goes on my new business card… the centred one will go on the back side and the offset one will be on the front along with my contact info. So, without further ado…

Jennifer Yun Photography Logo - Offset

Jennifer Yun Photography Logo - Centred

Don’t mind all the jaggies… It’s the jpeg compression that’s causing the bumpiness along the edge of the lettering and graphics, it’s actually quite smooth when viewing it’s original size. Yep, after many months of trying to come up with an appropriate logo, I’ve finally created one on my own. I’d love to hear any comments about it, so drop me a line! Next on the To Do list… getting my business cards made!

1st Annual Naturopathic Cancer Research Golf Tournament

So, it turns out there are a few extremely proactive colleagues of mine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) and they have been working day in and out to organize a fundraiser in the form of a golf tournament for cancer research in naturopathic medicine. I’ve volunteered my services as a photographer for the event and after a few preliminary conversations with Jon, Frank and Mike, I will be the official photographer for that event! There are still details that need to be hashed out… but it’ll all come together. :)

As for this tournament, it’s a great cause and reason to raise money as the more research is conducted into naturopathic ways to treat and co-manage cancer with conventional medicine, the more credibility our area of medicine garners and better, safe and confident care can be administered. If you want more information, check out the tourney website by clicking on the logo above for details and how to register. They’ve already garnered quite a bit of interest as well as celebrity involvement from Darcy Tucker and Matt Stajan of the Leafs. Oh, and did I mention it was going to be held at the Angus Glen Golf Club, probably one of the most prestigious golf courses in the country??? if you already know about this information and want to register, just click here! Take my word, it’s going to be a great event!

I’ve just discovered the Simpleviewer plugin for WordPress and as you can see, I love it! It makes displaying my photos so easy and compact, and might I add, classy-looking. I think I’m going to have to go back and set up all of my photos in my blog this way! Saves space and you don’t have to keep scrolling down to see all the photos! I love it!

I was invited to Marian’s wedding as a guest and decided to take my camera along to get some nice shots to add to my portfolio. She picked the beautiful, classy Old Mill Inn as her venue for the ceremony and reception. I’d never been to The Old Mill Inn before, but picture a graceful English Tudorbethan-style inn overlooking the Humber Valley… very picturesque. I didn’t really get many photos during the ceremony as I was hesitant to whip out my flash and snap away as there were two hired photogs working away and I didn’t want to get in their way (it was a really small chapel that held 150 people, if even that). I did however manage to get a few photos of the cake(s), and the table decor. Not too many photos but a few to add to my portfolio. :)
