Alright! So without further ado… I’m finally getting around to posting Graham’s photos from our fantabulicious road trip down to the eastern seaboard of the United States! (For those of you who missed the epic blog postings… check out Part Uno and Dos at your leisure!) He got some really kick-ass photos from this trip and I just wasn’t able to post it until now! So sit back and let your mouse do the scrolling!

Happy Monday!

Only fitting that it starts out with me… it is my blog after all! :)

This was taken at the base of the Washington Monument in D.C near sunset. Very cool shot!

Inside the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum - Graham took some really spectacular photos while in there.

This is the lunar space lander, module, do-hicky thing… Graham just looked it up, it’s actually called the Apollo Lunar Module. ;)

Another very cool perspective!

Now this one has a bit of a story behind it… We happened to be driving by near sunset again on another day and came up on a red light. We both looked out the driver’s side window and said, "Wow, nice shot." (Edit: Actually, it was 100% Graham’s shot… apparently he thinks I’m trying to sneak in some credit, like I would do something like that!) Graham was like, "Give me my camera, quick!" and in less than 10 seconds, as the light turned green and we had to go, Graham popped the camera out of the car window, snapped ONE shot and this is what he got! Un-frickin’-believable!

National Air and Space Museum… part deux. This was in Chantilly, VA with all the really cool aircrafts and the space shuttle Enterprise.

Graham really likes this photo of me for some reason… I’m not entirely sure why. I feel like I’m giving off "muuuhhh" vibes. What do you think? I’m on the phone with my mom there, while touring the Battleship New Jersey… NOT that that’s why I’ve got that expression on my face!

16" caliber artillery! Awesome!

I’m such a dork! That’s the shell that goes in the behemoths above.

Aren’t we just dorks together?! I love it! We were on a self-guided tour of the battleship… hence the way-cool headphones wrapped around Graham’s head. :)

On our excursion into a U.S. naval yard in Philadelphia, PA.

Yep.. that is the USS John F. Kennedy… it’s a pretty well-known aircraft carrier to military buffs… affectionately known as "Big John". I know it because Jackie O. (Kennedy, at that time, of course) decorated the in-port cabin to her tastes and it’s being assembled for view at the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Florida.

This thing is humungous! Graham got a shot with his car in it to get some idea of perspective.

Ah, New York, New York. A wicked shot of the Empire State Building.

I really like this shot of Graham!

Oh boy… and then there’s me. Ha!

Graham snapped this shot for me because I couldn’t fit my big cranium through the metal wire bars to look over the edge myself! Yes, I have a big head… but then doesn’t that mean that there’s a big brain inside as well? Graham says it’s because I have "old-model" neurons… think 1980’s style cell phones… haha.

That’s the NYC skyline in the background viewed from Staten Island.

Good ‘ol Turtle Pond in Central Park!

Aww! Graham took this one of us… that’s us!… sitting on the dockside after our fantastic lobster/clam/seafood dinner at Spanky’s Clam Shack in Hyannis, MA.

These ducks were enjoying the evening with us as well…

I am one with my dorkiness! Good morning Saranac Lake!

Our awesome campsite!

Graham’s super, efficiently burning campfire… or what remained of it the next morning.

This is the ONLY time you will see me shove my pants into my socks like that… I will look like the biggest geek to avoid getting tick bites!

I told you we had photos of our breakfast catch! Eggs and ham! Mmmm. Such a happy dork. Only fitting that this blog post end off with me exposing my dorky ways. :)

He would sit patiently, watching, as Sophia played her heart out on the volleyball court. Playing alongside Sophia, I watched as Mike had eyes only for the woman of his life. And just as he said in his speech at the reception on their wedding day, there was no fighting love and the person with whom he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life.

Sophia and Mike, so well-suited, in character, interests… like yin needs its yang, like a sail needing the moving wind. It was only fitting they met at the gym, both athletes sharing in their love of physical fitness. Mike approached Sophia and several dates later, it became apparent to each other that there was something clearly more than a superficial attraction; they saw in each other, what they wanted for the rest of their lives… a deep friendship, a mutual respect, and unfettered love.

It was such an honour to be given the opportunity to capture the union of two wonderful individuals. It was my first wedding as a photographer and my first Greek wedding as well! The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and rich with tradition and culture. The reception was held at The Manor byPeterandPauls. This was a fantastic venue north of Toronto with an excellent menu, beautiful surroundings and a great DJ! As this was my first wedding, this post is going to have a lot of photos… and don’t forget to catch the slide show at the end!

Sophia, Mike: Your wedding was an exciting and emotional day for all those attending, including myself. You are both so lucky to be surrounded by such warm, supportive family members and friends as you embark on a new path and a lifelong journey together. Have an amazing time on your honeymoon and be sure to get as pampered as possible! Much love and thanks… Jenne.

Hair and make-up for the bridal party was done by the talented stylists at the Hair, Body & Soul salon in Woodbridge.

The flower girl was waiting to get her hair done! Apparently, she loves apples… she told me so!

Mike getting ready with a couple of his groomsmen, Louis and Brad

Yes, Mike is ironing his best man’s shirt! I had to get a shot of this!

I absolutely love the details on Sophia’s gown… the lace and the beadwork! She looked so fabulous in this dress!

Look! I even got my name on the bottom of her shoes! She’s definitely flexin’ her abs here to get her legs up like this!

I just happened to catch this moment before the procession started… the flower girl was adorable!

The look on Sophia’s face is just priceless!

She couldn’t resist the ice cream truck! This girl is all about the ice cream!

Is it legal to look this hot while eating ice cream? Can you tell that she was happy to have her treat?!

Fierce… all I can say is fierce!

One of my favourites from the day.

Definitely made it to my fav list!

I had the wonderful opportunity to do a cover shoot for CCNM’s alumni magazine yesterday down in the Kensington area. While I can’t post any of the potential cover photos, I just had to post one that I shot of Tobey-Ann. As soon as I saw this photo, the first thought in my head was, "Whoa… this girl is feroche!"

I’ve been fortunate enough to have known Tobey for the past couple of years through school. She’s such a dynamic woman who is passionate about naturopathic medicine and everything that is life. I served with her on the Naturopathic Students’ Association last year where we got to know each other much more and her insightful thoughts and opinions kept me grounded throughout the year. After completing a year of law school, she’s going back into the fray to complete her law degree while finishing off her last year of naturopathic medicine… Didn’t I tell you this girl is feroche!?!

Anyways, I love you Tobey and we’ll have to talk of doing an actual portrait session because, dang it girl… you are hawt!

Love, Jenne.

Screaming, aching, sore, sore, sore muscles. This is how my body responded as I got out of bed this morning. My feet, hands, legs… all wanting to kill me. If I had run a 10 km run yesterday, all this melodrama by my muscles (minus my hands) would have been more appropriate. As it stands, I had a long day yesterday shooting Sophia and Mike’s wedding and let me tell you, there really should be an endurance competition for wedding photography, especially when it’s in blistering, humid heat. :)

Never mind my pseudo-grumblings… I had an absolutely fantastic time photographing my very first wedding ever! I was expecting a little more stress than what actually came of the day which was a pleasant, unexpected surprise. Don’t get me wrong… the day moved on by quickly and I had to make sure I was on top of things but it was totally manageable and very comfortable conditions to work under (minus the weather… yes, I will continue to mention how gross the weather was, not just to me but everyone including the bridal party!).

I thought I’d leave a little morsel of what’s to come! On a quick glance, I am really, really happy with the results that came of yesterday… for now it’s back to the workstation. I should have a complete post of Sophia and Mike’s fabulous day up in the next few days!

Happy (but achy) Sunday!

Jenne.

Well… I’ll finally be shooting my very first wedding this Saturday. Trial by fire, shall we say? It’s somewhat surreal to finally get to do what I have been preparing myself for this past year. I’m so excited to be embarking on another journey in my life where I get to apply my love and passion for photography in chronicling those special moments for people who are close to my heart.

Sophia and I… our friendship developed very interestingly through school. I think the first time I actually talked to her was on the way to Montreal for MedGames in 2nd year. She had just started at CCNM but she definitely gave off an air of confidence whenever I saw her in the hallways and was just a tini-bit intimidating to approach. We had both signed up to play and co-captain the woman’s volleyball team at CCNM and given her status as a former varsity player during her undergrad years at Guelph… well let’s just say that added a little more to the intimidation factor. Apparently, after I approached her about the whole volleyball thing out of the blue… she felt similarly intimidated! I love this girl! What a start to an awesome friendship!

Fast forward a few years… years of playing volleyball together, working out in the fitness centre, and getting to know each other a whole lot better, I am completely honoured to be photographing the wedding of such a beautiful and grounded woman to her fiance Mike on Saturday! I am excited and thoroughly nervous… in fact, those butterflies aren’t butterflies, I think they’re elephants tromping around as big as they please in my stomach.

Wish me luck and stay tuned for photos after this weekend!

Jenne.

Sticky notes everywhere! I’ll be needing my vitamins and minerals that day… it’s supposed to be humid and 27 degrees Celsius! Ick… I’ll try to "glow" as gracefully as I can!
