They grew up together, went to high school together, but it wasn’t until much later that they figured out they were right for each other. As Justin told the story of how they connected, Carolyn sat next to him laughing knowing the turns that the story would take.

“We had a mutual friend that Carolyn hung out with and so I decided that it would be a good chance for me to get to know her better.” Spending time together came naturally when they all hung out and with every passing moment, Justin knew there was something more to Carolyn, definitely something special… she recognized something too, only with another guy! Years passed as did the other relationship and Carolyn came to realize what Justin knew all along… they were just meant to be!

I had so much fun shooting this session… we hung out in an area of Brampton that had so much character and the shooting locations were just endless! Carolyn was super-fab and Justin was so charming… between her uninhibited laughter and his sheepish grins, the two together, were just awesomely sweet!

I can’t wait to shoot their wedding this September… it’s going to be an amazing time!

Much love, Jenne.

Remember that laughter I told you about? Isn’t it just awesome?!!

All of their paparazzi poses… you just have to love it!

What can I say? I just love what couples decide to wear on their feet… dress shoes or sneakers, it don’t matter!

One of my personal favs from this session… love the look Justin’s giving her!

I have to say, this image just gives me goose-bumps… it’s the expression on his face that really brings an intensity to the photo… oh, and it’s probably my fav from the shoot.

Uh… can we say uber-chic?!

Nancy and Ian’s laughter and smiles tend to fill up a room with warmth and love… their wedding day was no exception. From the moment that Ian saw Nancy waiting in front of their family and friends… yes, Ian walked down the aisle to meet Nancy (more on that in a bit!)… his smile was so bright and I knew it was the start to a beautiful day!

Ian did walk down the aisle to meet Nancy, only because he had stepped out briefly without realizing that Nancy was about to make her grand entrance… an unconventional start to a wedding ceremony but a unique twist that made this wedding a memorable one!

From the moment I met Nancy and Ian, I knew they were two souls that were meant for each other. It wasn’t that they shouted out their love from the rooftops; it was the quiet gestures, the fleeting glances and the refreshing laughter that indicated a deep, shared love. I’m so happy to have captured Nancy and Ian’s special day at George on Queen St. East in Toronto. It was a small, intimate wedding attended by close family members and friends and it made the day that much more memorable.

Nancy & Ian: Thank you so much for such allowing me to document your special day! It was wonderful to meet your family and friends and celebrate a beautiful moment in your life’s journey.

Much love and appreciation, Jenne.

Edit: … so remember how I raved about the bouquet and took lots of photos of the table pieces?! Well, coincidentally, I actually got to meet the creator of said pieces today! Genevieve Makinson is the owner of sweetgrass flowers and I just happened upon her boutique shop in Rosedale (she’s got another down on Queen St. East) and I have to say… she and her work are both ultra-fab! I had been meaning to ask Nancy about the great pieces but it was a pretty cool surprise to meet Genevieve in person! Serendipitous if you ask me… !

Gorgeous florals!

The decor in George is just phenomenal! From the aged wood flooring to the wrought iron latticework on the walls, windows and French doors, it’s a beautiful locale for an intimate wedding such as this one.

There was an accordion player who played throughout the day… it was a really nice touch and fit the ambiance perfectly!

Nancy’s bouquet was just beautiful… the orange walls in the Sand Room added a brilliant background!

I love how they laugh together all the time… so sweet.

Nancy’s wedding shoes… brilliant and sexy! Love it!

This is the iron work I mentioned earlier!

Convocation. Graduation. The end of the tunnel. The defining moment when you know you’re done school for good. Call it whatever you like but it is definitely a sweet moment!

I was there exactly a year ago myself walking across that stage at U of T Convocation Hall receiving my diploma for having completed four years at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I walked across that stage and became a naturopathic doctor.

One year later, I am so happy to have documented that moment for Iris graduating from the same program. Iris started the program with me back in 2004 but halfway along the journey, got pregnant with William and decided to take some time off. I’m so proud of her for getting back in it and seeing this grueling and ridiculously trying program to its end. I know it will all pay off when she’s back in Calgary practicing naturopathic medicine!

Iris had so many members of her supportive and loving family attend convocation that she wanted to capture it all without having to worry about running around trying to do it herself. I had a wonderful time photographing the entire day, capturing all sorts of fun moments with Iris, her husband George, their beautiful son William and all the members of their families!

Iris: Congratulations on getting through CCNM and so many best wishes for your future practice! Thanks for allowing me to capture your special day!

George: Congratulations on getting through CCNM with Iris… it’s finally over! :)

Much love, Jenne.

It was so cute how William had his own his own gown and grad cap!

This moment was captured during Toby’s valedictorian speech… it was a mixture of laughter and tears.

Dr. Iris!

This kid is so cute I could just eat him up!

Yep… that’s me actually in front of the camera… I got pressured into doing it!

Everybody say Ha-aay, Ho! George cracks me up!

These two are such an awesome couple!

… and an even more awesome family!

I had to post this pic with Iris and Jo… two beautiful women with whom I am fortunate to have forged awesome friendships!

And here come some serious laughs… I can only imagine what Iris and George’s wedding was like… pure jokes!

The girls wanted a jumping shot so they went first…

… but it wasn’t the last of the jumping. Some serious air!

Hil-frickin’-larious!

GQ… eat your heart out!

Jess also graduated that day and became a fellow ND… some of you may remember her from her fab photo shoot a while back! There may be another one in the works… stay tuned for that one!
