The best part about doing what I do is that I get to meet the most awesome people and discover new locations for photog session! Agnes and Karl? No exceptions!

Agnes found an amazing spot to do this engagement session, in Mississauga, right along the shoreline of Lake Ontario. Adamson Estate is such a gorgeous spot that’s nicely tucked away from the bustle of the city. This fab property is home to the Royal Conservatory of Music as well as a myriad of running trails that wind through earthy green woods. It’s absolutely awesome… and did I mention there’s a barn too?!

I’m fortunate to have connected with Agnes and Karl through attending naturopathic college at CCNM. She just graduated this year and is about to write her board exams next week. Still, in the midst of study mania, she decided to take a well-deserved break away from the books to have a sweet engagement session with her fiance Karl. It was so natural to capture these two in front of the camera and their chemistry seriously sparked!

I knew this session was a great one when I made a comment about lasting friendships with my clients and Karl misheard me thinking I said “elastic friendships”. Sometimes things are misheard for a reason! I like that… elastic friendships. It fittingly describes the ebb and flow that friendships encompass and the compassion and flexibility that great relationships offer.

Agnes & Karl: Thanks for an amazing session and I’m so honoured to be documenting your special day in September and even more thankful that this is the start of our elastic friendship! Oh and Agnes… you’re gonna rock NPLEx! I know it! :)

Much love and appreciation, Jenne.

You know it’s going to be a great session when it starts with laughter!

Absolutely gorgeous!

The chemistry is definitely smokin’!

Uh… great shoes or what?! And such a girl after my own heart… she bought two pairs because she loved them so much! 2nd pair to come…

Love this one… yup, one of my favs!

Love the candy red 2nd pair!

Ever dapper and suave… very nice Karl!

Just so radiant… you’re absolutely beautiful Agnes!

Another one of my favs from this session!

I absolutely love maternity shoots! I love how radiant the mother-to-be looks (or in this case, already mother-of-one and soon to be two!). I love the beauty of a pregnant woman’s form. I love the intricacies of life that allows such an event to develop and mature into a miracle of nature. Did I mention how much I love maternity shoots?!

This one was no different… and I loved it even more because it was Charlotte. Charlotte is one of Graham’s awesome sisters and already an amazing mother to her daughter Clara… I have no doubt she’ll be an equally amazing mother to the little on on his way… yup, HIS way!

Char: I’m so happy to have been able to do this shoot with you and I can’t wait until the baby is introduced to this world!

Lots of love, Jenne.

I love this shot of Char… she looks so beautiful!

Gorrrgeous!

One of my fav shots from this session… that’s Clara, the big sister-to-be.

It sure looked like it was going to be one rainy Saturday. It was all over the weather forecasts… thunderstorms, lightning, oodles of rain… that was the kind of day the meteorologists were predicting. Not the kind of day that photographers want for an engagement session… seriously, it was predictions for the kind of day where I wanted to go outside and combine rain-stopping dances and chant “Rain, rain, go AWAY! Come again… anytime I’m not going out for a photo shoot!”

So the morning started out as predicted… thunder, lightning, torrential rain… the works. I called Shawna and we cancelled the shoot. By about midday, the sky was bluer than blueberries and the sun was having a grand ol’ time drying up the soggy earth…. but those meteorologists… they were still calling for those angry thunderstorms that would keep the Wicked Witch of the West indoors for fear of the sky opening up at any moment and pouring the heavens down on her, even with blue skies.

We decided to scoff in the face of those predictions and by mid-afternoon, our photo session was back on and we were off to Ajax Rotary Park to capture some awesome moments! Good thing we did too… because it turned out to be an amazing afternoon with gorgeous sunset lighting! And with the few rain droplets we felt near the end of our session, it was hardly the hell-raising havoc that was predicted. So much for relying on accurate weather forecasts.

Shawna & Kevin: I had so much fun capturing your fun moments together and getting to know you so much better on this shoot. You guys are so amazing as a couple and I can’t wait to capture your special memories in October. I know there’s going to be much laughter and crazy moments and I really am looking forward to being a part of that day!

Much love and appreciation, Jenne.

I told you this would end up on my blog Kevin! :)

Quite possibly one of my favourites of all time… something so sleek about the way these two look!

Love the looks they’re giving each other… smokin’!

He was brushing some stray strands of hair out of Shawna’s face… after the wind blew them away already.

I’m so lucky to have such great shoes to photograph on these sessions! I love my girls and their styles! Maybe I’ll do a post on the fab shoes I’ve captured from all of my sessions!

Couldn’t have asked for better lighting at the end of the shoot… this was literally the last image I captured on my camera… awesome!

Remember the song Shiny Happy People by REM from the early-90’s?? I used to love that song and the video… oh man, the video is so dated but very kick-ass in its own right!

“Shiny happy people holding hands… shiny happy people holding hands…”

It’s such a happy song, how can you not like it?! Anyways, why am I blogging about a song from the 90’s that was released by a rockin’ band? I met with a client the other day and she said she liked my photos because they were fun and happy! I’d like to give credit to all of my couples who have exuded awesomeness for me in front of my camera… if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have the cotton-candy, funness of images that I do today!

And today, I dedicate this post to all of those couples who are my shiny happy people! I do love you all very much and I’m so fortunate to have met and befriended the whole lot of you! You guys rock hard… very REM-esque!

Here’s a sneak peek at a session I had this past weekend! Yet another perfectly amazing example of fun!
