Gina, Andre & Nyla : Brickworks Family Session

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

Family portrait sessions are beautiful. The laughter and love. Giggles. Hugs and squeezes. Capturing every single moment makes for a fun and magical session.

When Gina contacted me some time ago to see if I’d be interested in capturing her family moments, I was super excited… oh, and a tad nervous. See, Gina is a portrait photographer herself. Of Beautiful Images Photography. She takes stunning photos of families so when she turned to me to capture her own family’s photos, I couldn’t help but be a little nervous!

Gina: Hanging out with you and your family was phenomenal. There’s clearly a beautiful love between you and Andre and you both share that with your little angel, Nyla.

Love & hugs, Jenne.

Begin Family : Evergreen Brick Works

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

Let me start off by saying, I don’t usually do very many family sessions as a photographer but when they do come along, I cherish them to little bitty pieces. Especially when it’s a family such as the Begin family with two adorably cute little boys… seriously, I could just gobble the youngest, Thomas, right up. Yum, yum, yum.

We couldn’t have asked for a better morning for a fall session at the Evergreen Brick Works. Neil, Candy and the boys, James and Thomas, set out exploring the vast nature preserve and quarry behind the old brick works and it was a treat to capture some fun and cute moments. Have a look for yourselves!

Happy Tuesday!

Gobble, gobble, gobble. So cute!

Such an adorable pair… aww, brotherly love.

Becky + James : Toronto Engagement

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

As far as engagement sessions go, this one was pretty awesome… it was for family after all.

I got a call from my cousin James asking if I could be his photographer for his upcoming wedding. When I heard that James had proposed to Becky, I’ll have to admit… I was surprised. James had dropped some hints about proposing in the new year and had already asked if I would consider being the photographer but I wasn’t expecting to be documenting this momentous occasion this year! Surprise was quickly overcome with congratulations and happiness for my older cousin. He definitely deserved to have a special, kind and loving person in his life and Becky showed up at the right place and time.

From a paramedic to an army veteran returned from Afghanistan to an engaged and soon to be married man, I am so proud of James in so many ways. Growing up, he was like an older brother to me… he let me play with his toys (seriously, I didn’t really like playing with Barbie… Really? Why would you want to play with a doll when you can play with G.I. Joe, toy tanks and some pretty cool car sets. Yeah, yeah, definitely a tomboy. But I digress…), listen to all his cassette collections (wow, is that word still in the dictionary?) and just let me hang out in his room for no reason at all. Pretty frickin’ cool.

James, I can’t believe it’s come to a point in our lives where I get to document such a special moment in your life. I’m so honoured that you’ve asked me to be your photographer and I can’t wait for your wedding day next month. Becky, in the short time we’ve spent together, you already seem pretty awesome and I’m really looking forward to getting to know you better!

So much love & hugs, Jenne.

The morning light at the Evergreen Brick Works (Formerly known as the Don Valley Brick Works) was just stunning!

Absolutely my favourite image from the session…
