I got a message in my Facebook inbox some many months ago from Shanthy. In it, she explained, she was getting married. Again. To the same guy.
Long and short of it was that she and Paul got married a couple of years back down in Philadelphia in a civil ceremony and never had a wedding celebration with all of their family and friends, especially the ones from her hometown in Toronto. So, she was coming back home. For her second wedding to the love of her life.
From the moment I met Paul, I knew he was perfect for Shanthy. You see, Shanthy and I go waaay back… all the way back to 5th grade in elementary school in Scarborough. Through it all, in elementary and high school, we used to talk about what we looked for in the perfect man (back then it was the perfect boy) and who we thought we would see ourselves with in the future. Needless to say, she found her perfect man in Paul and he was completely right for her.
The entire weekend was rich with colour and celebration, from the beautifully ornate Hindu ceremony on the Saturday to the gorgeous hues of purple on the Sunday, friends and family gathered en masse to witness the love of two wonderful, kind and gentle souls.
Shanthy and Paul: Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to document the clear love and bond you have with each other. I’m so happy that, Shanthy, you found the man you had always hoped for and you get to spend the rest of your life with him. Both of your families were so gracious and kind, and I know when you start your family, it will be the same way.
Love and hugs, Jenne.

On Sunday, we met at the Thompson for some images atop the hotel roof and patio. Quite possibly some of the most stunning views of the Toronto skyline.
